Do You Know..??

What Kissable Men And Women Know!

Wow! It's already that time of year... again! We just finished Thanksgiving and already the shopping malls are filled with magical Christmas decorations and playing timeless holiday songs! A bit early for Christmas isn't it? Or is it?

December is filled with get-togethers and parties. Most of us spend hours to pick out that perfect party outfit. But what about your smile? If your smile isn't quite what you would like, then now is the time to spicing it up and make it mistletoe kissable this holiday. After all, you never know who you may meet.

Look great in holiday photos
Who doesn't want a bright white smile? Teeth age and yellow with time, it's normal. Tooth whitening is popular, affordable and a great way to achieve a brighter beautiful smile. It can make a dramatic difference and take years off of your appearance in almost no time at all.

Shine like a Star
You don't have to be in Hollywood to show off a celebrity smile this holiday season. Veneers can correct various smiles imperfections that may be affecting your appearance. They are a durable "shell" of porcelain bonded to the front of the tooth to create a beautiful A-list picture perfect smile.

Stay Kissable
Brush and Floss daily to remove trapped food, plaque and bacteria that otherwise decompose and cause bad breath odours. Don't Forget Your Tongue! Use a tongue scraper to clean your tongue daily. See your dentist twice a year for a professional cleaning to ensure clean shiny teeth, healthy gums and fresher kissable breath.

Keep Floss handy
With all the foods and delights this holiday, be careful of foods like salads and greens that can get embarrassingly caught between your teeth. Always carry floss or our wallet sized "Flosscard" for a quick touch up to keep food out.

Stand out in the crowd
If you love your smile but want to give it some pizazz or make a fashion statement, you may want to consider tooth jewellery. Tooth gems are available in many designs, shapes and colors. Within 5 minutes, your dentist can place one painlessly to give your smile a unique sparkle. Tooth gems can be removed at any time without any trace.

Don't neglect your lips
Chapped and rough lips affect men as well as women. Your lips are constantly exposed to environmental irritants. The weather outside is getting colder and the air indoors is becoming drier which means - lips are more prone to getting chapped. Keep your lips soft and smooth with lip balm or moisturizing lipsticks which will protect and hydrate preserving your lips soft, youthful and beautiful appearance.

It's the holidays! Enjoy them! Plan early to look your best. You don't need to spend a lot of time or money to look and feel great this Christmas!

MAKE-UP & ACCESSORY TIPS FOR
AN INSTANTLY WHITER SMILE

Lipstick color
Your lip color can affect how white - or how yellow - our teeth look. The best options for an instantly whiter looking smile are blue based pink or red lipsticks as well as any violet colors, like dark plums. Think cherry red, berry and wine shades. Glosses and glossy lipsticks also give the illusion of a brighter smile by reflecting light.

Bronzer & blush
Cosmetic specialists recommend that if you like using bronzer choose one that is one shade darker than your natural skin tone. Sweep it across your face in a "C" motion from forehead to cheekbone and then across your forehead and chin.

For those who prefer blush, pick pink shades instead of peach coloured shades as the latter tends to play up teeth stains and make teeth yellower.

Accessories
The accessories we wear next to our face can also make a difference. Choosing cool toned gems and silver jewellery over old and warm earth toned beads will make teeth look whiter.

Hair color
Even hair color can affect how white teeth look. Teeth will look whiter when juxtaposed against darker hair and less so against light hair. To offset the effect, hair stylist recommend light hair never be composed of a single flat shade but should always have added highlights of sand, wheat or vanilla.

GLAZED HOLIDAY HAM

1 (6 pound) ready to eat ham
1 tsp mustard powder
3 tbsp condensed frozen orange juice
Whole cloves
Pineapple chunks
Maraschino cherries, halved

Directions

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
Place ham in foil lined pan. Score ham in a triangle pattern about 1/4 inch deep. Push a whole clove into each triangle. Secure pineapple and cherry halves with tooth picks. Place here and there over ham. Mix sugar and mustard powder together. Add concentrated orange juice and mix to a paste. Brush over surface of ham.
Brush glaze over ham, and bake for 1 hour. Baste ham every 10 to 15 minutes with the glaze. During the last 4 to 5 minutes of baking, turn on broiler to caramelize the glaze. Remove from oven, and let sit a few minutes before serving.
